Tiffany Haddish’s reps deny child sexual abuse allegations

Comedians Tiffany Haddish and Aries Spears are being sued after being accused of child sex abuse.

According to a lawsuit filed Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, the actors allegedly assaulted a pair of siblings – named John Doe and Jane Doe on the file – when they were 7 and 14 years old. The Daily Beast first reported on the lawsuit on Thursday.

The lawsuit alleges that Haddish (“Girls Trip”) and Spears (“MADtv”) “groomed” and “harassed” the plaintiffs and that some of the incidents were videotaped. However, Haddish’s representatives deny the allegations.

“Plaintiffs’ mother, Trizah Morris, has attempted to bring these false allegations against Ms. Haddish for several years,” Haddish’s legal counsel said in a statement to The Times following the Daily Beast report. “Every solicitor who initially took her case – and there were several – eventually dropped the matter when it became clear the claims were unfounded and Ms Haddish would not be shaken.

“Now Mrs. Morris has her adult daughter representing herself in this court case. The two will bear the consequences of this frivolous action together.”

When reached by the Times on Thursday, one of Spears’ attorneys, Debra Opri, replied, “He’s not going to fall for a shakedown.”
