Tim Anderson suspended 6 games for fight, Jose Ramirez out 3

Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson has been suspended for six games and Cleveland Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez will miss three games as he was the key player in a brawl between the two teams on Saturday night.

Anderson received the more severe sentence after he appeared to have instigated a fight in which the two players fought like boxers and traded punches at the second base bag. Anderson was thrown to the ground after Ramirez punched him in the left side of the face.

In addition, the Guardians have each suspended pitcher Emmanuel Clase, manager Terry Francona and third-base coach Mike Sarbaugh for one game. White Sox manager Pedro Grifol was also suspended for a game, and Chicago pitcher Michael Kopech and Cleveland outfielder Gabriel Arias received undisclosed fines.
