Timbaland says R. Kelly is STILL the king of R&B!!

Legendary producer Timbaland is facing backlash after declaring R. Kelly king of R&B despite the singer being a convicted sex offender.

“R. Kelly is the king of R&B. We all know that, man,” said the producer. “And it’s funny, I’m glad you’re talking about it because I’m having conversations – everyone cringe when you hear R. Say Kelly. I’m like, “So we’re just ignoring his music that he gave us and that we’re all jamming to?” No, we can’t. His art is his art, I’m not going to belittle the man’s art.” ‘ he said on the Club Shay Shay podcast.

He continued, “Don’t confuse music with the personal. Music is a feeling, it stands on its own. Music knows no race, it brings people together. There’s no drama with it. It’s a place of pleasure, of a feeling, so don’t bring drama to the music. Leave that out.”

Kelly was sentenced in 2022 to 30 years in prison on nine counts of “sexual exploitation of children” and “transportation of women and girls in interstate commerce for the purpose of engaging in illegal sexual activity,” among other counts. The disgraced star was convicted in Chicago last year on three counts of child pornography and three counts of child enticement.

Fans criticized Timbaland’s opinion online.

Was he wrong?
