TimTheTatman uses RICOCHET to hilariously “troll” Warzone cheater

Playing against hackers in Warzone can be extremely frustrating – but TimTheTatman gave a hacker a taste of his own medicine by trolling it back.

Raven Software introduced an anti-cheat system called RICOCHET at the launch of Caldera in December. Cheats still hang around RICOCHET, but several updates like the Disarm Weapon feature make cheating that much harder.

Even though Raven Software has revamped its efforts, cheating is by no means completely eradicated from Warzone. After the June 3rd update, some Warzone players called the game “unplayable” due to cheaters.

In a great example of RICOCHET working correctly, CoD content creator TimTheTatman “trolled” an attempted hack during a Caldera match.

Added Warzone cheats

Cheating has become a big problem in Warzone.

TimTheTatman “trolls” a Warzone hacker

In the video below, a hacker tries to shoot TimTheTatman but cannot do any harm as RICOCHET suspects suspicious activity.

The feature is called Damage Shield and in a blog the Call of Duty developers explained: “If you get shot and your health starts to drain, you know it’s probably an impostor on the other end of the fight. The scammer, in turn, wastes ammunition and eventually realizes he has been discovered.”

The streamer immediately recognized that the player was a hacker and chased after him to have some fun at his expense.

TimTheTatman said, “You’re not going to learn your lesson. RICOCHET is a work colleague. They can’t hack us anymore. It’s not Verdansk now, we’ve put that time behind us.”

TimTheTatman went on to say, “I’m going to throw you,” and then proceeded to hilariously execute the hacker by slamming her into the wall. At the time of writing, the video has 129,000 views.

Fans will be delighted to see how Ricochet does its job of correctly preventing hackers from influencing the outcome of a game.
