TJ Holmes and Amy Robach leave ABC News after scandal

TJ Holmes and Amy Robach, the ABC News hosts who reportedly began a romantic relationship last year, are leaving the network.
“After several discussions with Amy Robach and TJ Holmes about various options, we all agreed that moving away from ABC News is best for everyone,” a news department official said in a statement. “We recognize their talent and dedication over the years and are grateful for their contributions.”
Holmes, 45, and Robach, 49, have co-hosted the daily show GMA3: What You Need to Know since 2020 and have appeared regularly on Good Morning America.
The duo were removed from the show in December amid ABC’s internal review of their relationship, which surfaced in tabloid reports.
Holmes and Robach have been married to their respective spouses — attorney Marilee Fiebig and actor Andrew Shue — since 2010. Holmes recently filed for divorce while Robach is separated from Shue.
ABC News President Kim Godwin previously told her employees that the amicable relationship between Holmes and Robach was “not a violation of company policy.” Her original reason for taking her off the air was that the news surrounding the couple had become a distraction.
Holmes has been with ABC News since 2014, having previously worked at CNN and BET. Robach joined ABC News in 2014, serving as the news anchor for Good Morning America and co-host of prime-time news magazine 20/20. She was at NBC and worked on Today.
ABC News correspondents Gio Benitez and Stephanie Ramos, along with journalists DeMarco Morgan and Rhiannon Ally, have been covering GMA 3: What You Need to Know since Holmes and Robach were canceled, alongside regular co-host Jennifer Ashton.
