“Tom Holland says the crowded room broke me,” announcing a year-long hiatus from acting

“I’m taking a year off now and that’s because of how difficult this show was,” Holland says of filming the new Apple TV+ series.
Tom Holland announced that he was taking a break from acting after filming The Crowded Room.
in a (n Interview with Extrathe actor shared that he was having a “hard time” with the role and detailed the reason for his planned year off from acting.
“The show broke me,” said Holland, 27. “There came a moment when I was like, ‘I need a break,’ and I disappeared. I went to Mexico for a week, spent some time on the beach, and laid low.”

“I’m taking a year off now,” he announced. “And that’s the result of how difficult this show was.”

“It was time to tell a story about mental health, mental health that’s brought on by trauma,” Holland continued. “Try to educate some people about how crazy it can be and how strong your mind is and that it can work for good and for bad. That really touched me.”

“The idea of playing this character really scared me,” he added, noting that it was “a really good thing” for him.
“It was definitely a tough time,” Holland said.
“We explored certain emotions that I’ve definitely never experienced before,” he revealed. “On top of that, working as a producer and dealing with the day-to-day issues that come with every film set has added even more pressure.”
“I really enjoyed it. I loved the learning curve of becoming a producer,” added Holland. “I’m no stranger to hard work. I’ve always kind of lived by the idea that hard work is good work, and I’ve really enjoyed it.”
“I’m excited to see how it will turn out and I have a feeling that our hard work is not in vain.”
Holland previously spoken about how filming the show inspired him to get sober.
