Tory Lanez gives update from prison

Tory Lanez took to social media over the bank holiday weekend to give fans an update and share a snippet of new music.

“To my family, my friends and the umbellas worldwide, I want you to know that I have not lost my faith in God and that I am in high spirits,” Lanez wrote. “I am praying for the best and remain confident that God will get me through this situation. I have spent the last seven months rehabilitating my mind, body and spirit. Although I went to prison as a good person, I will leave as a great person. I turned this prison cell into my work office.”

Lanez faces up to 22 years and 8 months in prison as he is convicted of charges related to the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion.

The song was discontinued but then quickly removed from YouTube, Spotify and various other platforms. Prosecutors want Lanez to serve at least 13 years behind bars.
