Tottenham preparing £30m transfer offer for Bundesliga’s fastest centre-back to add to £40m Maddison and £16.3m Vicario

TOTTENHAM are on the hunt for the fastest central defender in the Bundesliga, Micky van de Ven.

Spurs are looking to push through a £30m deal for the 22-year-old, 1.90m Dutchman – but SunSport understand they have yet to have a formal approach to Wolfsburg.

Van de Ven played 33 times in the German top flight last season and captained the Netherlands at the U21 European Championship.

His amazing pace saw him hit a 22.3 mph speed in a league game – faster than any other centre-back in the division.

Van de Ven is Spurs’ latest quick move.

The defender is believed to be interested in a move to the Premier League.

He would have to compete with Cristian Romero, Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez for a spot.

Van de Ven’s agent Jose Fortes Rodriguez has confirmed several clubs are interested in him.

He told the German WAZ: “Micky played a fantastic season. There are many clubs that are interested.”

“It would be stupid to say now that he will definitely stay in Wolfsburg. Anything can happen this summer.”

“A player like Micky who has developed so well – the calls from the clubs come automatically. I get asked, ‘What’s the situation? Do we have a chance?’ Like I said, anything can happen this summer.

“He might be leaving. But if the right club doesn’t come along, why shouldn’t Micky stay in Wolfsburg?”

Tottenham have had a busy summer as the club hope for the support of new manager Ange Postecoglou.

The club signed Empoli keeper Guglielmo Vicario for £16.3m and Leicester’s James Maddison for £40m last month – as well as signing Israel winger Manor Solomon on a free transfer.

Solomon was on loan at Fulham last season and impressed with four goals in 19 Premier League games.

Meanwhile, star striker Harry Kane is still attracting interest from Bayern Munich and Manchester United.
