Trolls claimed painting my patio was the worst idea ever – it cost £18 and it’s weathering SO well, I’m super pleased

A drastic change to your home or yard always involves some risk, but one homeowner didn’t anticipate such a backlash when she announced her plans.
Georgina Raine shared a clip of herself painting her patio on Instagram last month and was shocked at how many people hated the idea.
But even though the trolls were convinced the whole thing was a terrible idea, it proved them all wrong.
“If you want to make a splash on social media, just take a brush to your patio.
“When I shared this project a month ago, I had no idea it would cause such controversy,” Georgina confessed.
The project cost just £18, which was a bargain enough to keep the homeowner happy.
She used Wickes Gray Wall Paint and was amazed at how well it held up to the elements over the past month.
“Even if it doesn’t hold up so well in the winter, I’ll just repaint it for £18 a tub,” said Georgina.
She continued, “It’s only a temporary fix until we can afford to properly finish the patio, so I’m very happy with how it looks.”
After sharing the update on social media, other DIY fans agreed the patio still looked great.
“Like you say dear Georgina… it’s only £18 if it needs touching up sad folks so,” one commented.
A second agreed: “Just amazing! I still want to do this but our patio is so big I’m not sure I have the energy right now.”
“Looks great! People seem to lose their minds when painting something outside. Everyone told me that our roof tile paint would come off in about 5 minutes.”
“A year and a half later, it looks the same,” said another.
And someone else wrote: “Love this budget friendly solution! You can never win with this app, there is always someone in the comments with something terrible to say.”
