Tampa, Fla. (WFLA) – The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating an accident that left a soldier slightly injured early Wednesday morning.
The crash happened around 1:30 a.m. on the westbound lane of Interstate 4 near the Socrum Loop in Lakeland.
The highway patrol said the soldier spotted another vehicle traveling at high speed. He tried to overtake near an exit, but had trouble reaching the bend, and lost control of his patrol car, crashing into a concrete wall.
The soldier suffered minor injuries in the collision and was taken to the Lakeland Regional Health Center for evaluation.
The remaining vehicle has not been located.
