Tropical Depression Two heads south, will bring Florida rain

The National Hurricane Center said a tropical wave known as Invest 91-L in the northeastern Gulf of Mexico became Tropical Depression Two on Thursday night. The tropical depression is forecast to become the first named storm of the season overnight. If the system is upgraded, the storm will be called Arlene. The system is expected to move south to Cuba and away from Central Florida but is likely to bring rain to us. In the NHC’s 2 p.m. Thursday update, growth opportunities increased as the system got better organized. This area has a 70% chance of forming something tropical in the next seven days.
