Two fans removed from US Open quarterfinal match after haircut prank at Arthur Ashe Stadium

NEW YORK — There was a pretty hairy situation at Tuesday night’s US Open.

Two men’s stays on the courts at Arthur Ashe Stadium were, ahem, cut short after one took the other’s head off right in the stands while Nick Kyrgios and Karen Khachanov were playing their quarter-finals.

They had clippers and the kind of cape a hairdresser usually uses to keep a client clean.

Before long, social media users were all raving about how a YouTuber known for his pranks pulled off this one.

Tournament security removed the two from the match.

“When someone saw it, security went to the two people. They were escorted out of their seats and then off the field for a stoppage,” said US Tennis Association Brendan McIntyre, adding, “There’s a first time for everything.”
