Two killed in small plane crash in Northern California

Two people were killed in a small plane crash in northern California on Sunday afternoon, authorities said.

The accident happened around 1:30 p.m. along Dog Bar Road near Colfax, a small town northeast of Sacramento, according to the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office.

It wasn’t immediately clear what caused the crash, but the Sheriff’s Office said officers from the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board were en route to the scene to investigate.

No one was injured in the crash, officials said. The names of the victims have not yet been released.
