Singer Soobin Tomorrow X Together (TXT) expressed his complicated feelings with the B-side song ‘minisode 2: Saturday’s Child’ ‘Trust Fund Baby’.
K-pop idol recently sat with Weverse magazine for an interview, where he discussed the production and recording process for the songs from the boy group’s latest mini-album. During the interview, Soobin pointed out the B-side track ‘Trust Fund Baby’ as the hardest song to record for him.
“Trust Fund Baby was the hardest song I ever made,” he said. “When I sang the whole thing, most of the parts were easy to get through, but I was stuck on the next part. ‘I can’t be a lover’, and felt like that part wasn’t for me but it ended up being me. “
Although the song was the most challenging for Soobin to record, he noted that he has since gotten better at singing the verses. “I have a love-hate relationship with the song because it was very difficult for me. But now I’m good at performing it live and have gotten a lot better,” he concluded.
In a separate interview, bandmate Beomgyu also said Weverse magazine about similar challenges in recording songs off new discs, especially the title track ‘Good Boy Gone Bad’. “It felt like I was falling behind no matter how hard I tried to sing it,” explained the vocalist. “It took a long time to record it.”
“I felt like, ‘There’s no way Choi Beomgyu can keep up with this pace with his low blood pressure,’” he joked. “But over time, when my blood pressure rose again, I saved the recording.”
‘minisode 2: Saturday’s Child’, which dropped earlier this month, comes nine months after the release of ‘The Chaos Chapter: Fight Or Escape’, a repackaged version of TXT’s second studio album ‘The Chaos Chapter: Freeze’, originally released in May 2021.
