Tye Ruotolo doesn’t back down from veteran performance artist Garry Tonon.
Brazilian jiu-jitsu experts will present a classic experience and youth wrestling match at ONE 157: Petchmorakot vs Vienot on May 20, broadcast live from the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Tye Ruotolo, who will be debuting ONE, said he hopes that he and Tonon won’t waste time searching for the best song possible. While he expects Tonon to go full throttle by the time they get their hands on each other, Ruotolo believes his youth and cardio will ultimately be his main advantage.
In an interview with ONE Championship, Tye Ruotolo said:
“I think as soon as we go forward, it will just be a hurricane of frantic conversions and scramble until I break him. That’s the only difference between me and Garry – I have a better heart, and I can adapt to bending more than he.”
The 19-year-old added that in the early stages of the game he plans to assert his game plan and ultimately outperform Tonon.
“It will just be a complete firefight for the first few minutes. Five minutes to six minutes, there will be a big change in the game and I will start to dominate and then break his spirit, get him tired and submit to him before 10 minutes. ”
Tye Ruotolo has no malice towards Tonon
Tonon has an interesting mark on social media and one of his most recent posts shows him poking fun at Ruotolo. The 30-year-old posted an Instagram post showing him choking on an edited photo of Ruotolo.
Even though it’s a piece of trash talk, no one can deny that it’s still a funny piece of writing. Ruotolo, too, doesn’t seem to hold any grudges towards his older rival.
“Garry is a funny guy, and I hold no malice or grudge against him. I called him years ago after I played Nicky Ryan, one of his teammates. He’s started doing all of his MMA fights, so it’s been years, and now we’re finally getting together. It’s been a few years now so I’m excited,” said Ruotolo.
“He has an extremely interesting style, always giving his best. He is the definition of a submissive hunter, a wild scrambler, and at the same time, the best at what he does. And right now, I’m ranked first. So it should be interesting. Those are the two best guys. ”
We’ll see if either of them can find the key faucet this weekend when Ruotolo and Tonon step into the circle together.
