LONDON – Prime Minister Liz Truss Tried to reassure the British public and anxious investors that her plan to cut taxes would not result in prolonged financial instability, arguing in a series of interviews on Thursday that the country was more vulnerable to global shocks than to her government’s and policy’s reforms been taken would result in faster growth.

“We had to act decisively,” Ms Truss told the British Broadcasting Corp. in their first public statements since the tax plan was presented last Friday. The new prime minister said she would not reverse plans to implement big tax cuts and spending increases, a borrowing-funded package that has raised alarms among investors.
