U.N. Inspectors Leave Kyiv for Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Plant

Kyiv, Ukraine — United Nations inspectors left Kyiv early Wednesday for the Russian-held Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant and vowed to set up a permanent mission at the southern Ukrainian facility amid fears fighting in the region could lead to a nuclear disaster.

Rafael GrossiDirector-General of the United Nations International Atomic Energy Agency, told reporters that the delegation was “finally on the move” after receiving explicit security guarantees from Russia and Ukraine.
