U.N. Seeks $160 Million for Pakistan Flood Relief

ISLAMABAD – The United Nations is demanding $160 million in flood aid for Pakistan to help millions of people affected by monsoon rains that have killed more than 1,100 since June.

Pakistan estimates the floods will cause more than $10 billion in damages, with immediate relief efforts costing more than $1 billion. It affects more than 30 million people or about 15% of the population.
