U.S., Allies Push for Accountability Over Alleged Russian War Crimes in Ukraine

WASHINGTON — The US and its allies used Thursday’s United Nations Security Council meeting to call for an investigation into alleged Russian war crimes in Ukraine, but have proposed few concrete actions to advance such a process.

“We support a range of national and international efforts to collect and investigate the mounting evidence of war crimes in Ukraine,” the US Secretary of State said Anton Blinken said the floor at the session of the United Nations Security Council. “We must hold these perpetrators accountable.”
