Ukraine Accuses Russia of Hindering Access to Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Plant

Ukrainian officials are accusing Russia of obstructing the International Atomic Energy Agency’s mission to inspect the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant, which was visited by investigators on Thursday for the first time since the war began.

Ukraine’s state-owned nuclear energy company, Energoatom, wrote on social media platform Telegram on Friday that Russian forces, which have manned the nuclear power plant since the early days of the war, prevented foreign journalists from monitoring the visit and the plant’s workers was able to speak to investigators and blocked the internet in the nearby town of Enerhodar to prevent the transmission of photos and videos from the facility.
