Ukraine Sees Path to Surging Grain Exports After First Shipment

Kyiv, Ukraine – Ukraine said its first shipment of grain since the Russian invasion began had been a success and could lead to a surge in exports to pre-war levels within two months, but industry players warned significant hurdles remain.

Oleksandr Kubrakov, Ukraine’s infrastructure minister, said 17 ships loaded with grain are ready to leave Ukraine’s three Black Sea ports, which operate under an agreement agreed last month. He said there will soon be two or three ships departing daily, with traffic eventually reaching 100 outbound ships per month.
