Ukraine Urges Evacuations as Pressure on Electricity Grid Intensifies

ODESSA, Ukraine—Ukrainian officials are encouraging people from the newly recaptured territories to evacuate, as the country tries to relieve stress on the damaged power grid before winter.

vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk said Saturday that the evacuation from recently reclaimed territory in the southern Kherson region would be voluntary and the state would pay for the transportation costs.
