Ukraine’s Zelensky Rallies Europe Against Russia’s ‘Energy Attack’

DNIPRO, Ukraine – President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy urged European countries to respond to an “energy attack” from Russia after it indefinitely halted natural gas flows to the continent through a vital pipeline.

The move was the latest escalation in an economic war that will come to a head this winter as cold temperatures increase energy demands. On the battlefield, Russian and Ukrainian forces are also dug in for the winter, trying to gain territory and secure positions before inclement weather makes maneuvering difficult and complicates operations for soldiers.
