KHERSON, Ukraine—The first time Russian soldiers came to Tropinka Hospital, they told Leonid Remiga, the hospital’s chief physician, to lower the blue and yellow Ukrainian flag hanging over the main entrance. He refused.
Dr Remiga, 68, recalls: “You could shoot me if you wanted, but I wouldn’t do it.”
