Underrated UK city to open ‘biggest ever beach’ – with slides, rides & rollercoasters

A brand new beach and water play area opens in one of the UK’s most underrated cities.
While the UK has some great places to visit, my hometown of Birmingham is often overlooked by holidaymakers during the summer months.
That’s largely because Birmingham doesn’t have its own beach or shoreline for visitors to relax and cool off in the heat.
But starting next week, a new sand court will open in the heart of the city, offering holidaymakers everything they need for a summer visit.
Digbeth Funfair and Beach is preparing for another year of fun with a range of activities.
Since its inception, the fair has enjoyed great popularity among locals and holidaymakers alike.
and acc Birmingham Mailthis year’s fair will be the “biggest ever” with rides, roller coasters and even a bar.
The beach attraction is operated by Danter Attractions, a theme park operator, which keeps visitors up to date via its Birmingham Beach Facebook page.
In a post on Facebook, they wrote: “Ride rides are arriving daily but most importantly over 500 tonnes of sand has arrived to build Birmingham’s largest beach ever.”
Other attractions include water features and slides, with more to be announced soon.
Visitors will be welcomed to the site at Smithfield in Birmingham city center from July 14th.
The Faire is a stone’s throw from the Bullring, Birmingham’s famous shopping centre, and a few minutes’ walk from Birmingham Grand Central and Rag Market.
Digbeth Funfair and Beach is easily accessible from both Birmingham New Street and Birmingham Moor Street Station.
Birmingham Bus Station and other local bus services are also within walking distance.
Prices and opening hours will be announced later.
In recent years, holidaymakers have raved about the fair in videos on TikTok.
TikTok user hello brum said: “There are a lot of rides and even a roller coaster. It’s cool to watch.”
Brum Updates, another Birmingham-based TikToker, also posted a video about the carnival.
In the footagedating from last year showed users all the rides and attractions they could expect to see at the fair.
While some locals didn’t even know the faire existed, others were dying to go.
One person wrote: “I went there it was so much fun.”
While another added: “[It’s] so good here.
It’s not the only new attraction in Birmingham, as a popular pub that once hosted music legends is reopening.
After nine years of closure The crown in Birmingham will soon be welcoming customers through its doors again.
Located on the corner of Station Street and Hill Street, the city center pub has been a launching pad for world-famous musicians such as Black Sabbath, UB40 and Led Zeppelin.

The pub closed in mid-2014 after the site was sold to developers, but plans to convert the derelict pub into a live music venue are afoot.
