Up To $16K Reward Offered For Tips About Murder Of East Baltimore Pregnant Woman And Fiancé – CBS Baltimore

BALTIMORE (WJZ) – Governor Larry Hogan has doubled the reward offered by Maryland’s Metro Crime Stoppers for any information leads investigators to the man who killed a pregnant woman and her fiancé in East Baltimore.

Maryland’s Metro Crime Stoppers began offering cash rewards Sunday afternoon. The volunteer-based organization says it will spend up to $8,000 in tips leading to the arrest and conviction of the man who shot and killed Angel Smith, 38, and her fiancé, Yahmell Montague.

Hours later, Hogan announced via social media that he would double that reward. Now, a tip can get up to $16,000 for information that helps homicide detectives find the shooter.

Hogan said on Twitter: “Through our Refinance initiative.

Smith and Montague were inside a parked car in the 300th block of East 23rd Street when someone began firing multiple rounds at them on Thursday.

The man is presumed dead on arrival. Smith is also believed to have died shortly after giving birth to an infant girl, who was initially listed in critical condition at Johns Hopkins Hospital, police said.

Smith was seven months pregnant at the time of her murder.

On Saturday, family members told WJZ that the baby’s health was improving. According to family members, some of the tubes that helped her fight for life were removed.
