Update As Trevor Noah Is Leaving ‘The Daily Show’ After Seven Years Citing Wanting To Explore Other Parts Of His Life

The news just got rocked by Trevor Noah. He’s quitting his job at Comedy Central. Trevor made the announcement on Thursday, telling the audience that his seven-year tenure was coming to an end, and it was to mark his seventh anniversary.

According to a Comedy Central source, his decision was based on his schedule, which is absolutely insane. and doing a daily show would be too exhausting for him. Comedy Central says, “We are grateful to Trevor for our amazing partnership over the past seven years. As we look ahead, we look forward to the next chapter in The Daily Show’s 25+ year history.”

Although the exact date of Trevor’s departure from the show is unknown, our Comedy Central source claims he’s working with the CC team to develop “a timeline for his exit.” Since 2015, Trevor has taken over as executive director of The Daily Show, replacing longtime host Jon Stewart on the mock news show.

Trevor received numerous award nominations while serving as presenter, and he also won a Primetime Emmy Award. Trevor’s contract with Comedy Central was extended from 2017 to 2022, but he’s now leaving the network entirely. It’ll be fascinating to see who Comedy Central chooses to host The Daily Show going forward, but whoever it is will no doubt have some big shoes to fill.

Trevor will surely get more opportunities because he has also hosted the Grammy Awards, the White House Correspondents Dinner, produced a lot of content and acted in films.
