Urgent hunt for man in black hood after schoolgirl sexually assaulted in broad daylight

Police have launched an urgent manhunt after allegedly sexually assaulting a schoolgirl in broad daylight.

Avon and Somerset Police have urged anyone with information to come forward following the attack in Taunton, Somerset.

The victim, a child in her early teens, was walking along Hamilton Road near the junctions of Bridgwater Road and Ilminster Road when the incident occurred at around 10.15am on 20 April.

According to police, an unidentified man approached her and inappropriately touched her.

He was wearing a black hooded shirt and had pulled up the hood at the time.

Local neighborhood officials have been informed and have been patrolling the area, but the perpetrator remains unknown.

Surveillance cameras and house-to-house interviews were also conducted.
