Learn how to climb safely in the North Cascades. #k5evening

NORTH CASCADE, Wash. – Located high in the magnificent North Cascades, this comprehensive snow, rock, glacier and ice climbing course is designed to provide individuals with a solid foundation in a variety of alpine mountaineering skills. It includes ascents of a glaciated peak and alpine granite peaks, each with their own diverse and unique challenges.

“This course is really sweet, this is the first place where you can get the baselines and take it to the mountains,” said Robert Fitzgerald.

It provides motivated novice climbers with the intense hands-on experience necessary to competently and efficiently navigate a wide range of climbing sites and includes crevasse rescue. Completion of this course will help prepare climbers for expeditions to peaks such as Denali, Aconcagua, Matterhorn, Mont Blanc and many more challenging ascents in the Cascades and in the greater mountain ranges of the world.

“First of all, there are so many different approaches, you want to learn a few little things first, and then you can apply.”

Guides lead the way as they teach you how to set up top ropes, rappelling and lots of climbing!

To be a capable, all-round mountaineer, you need to learn many different skills. Not just some of the more complicated stuff like crevasse saves, but what about a simple belay escape when your partner takes a ledge fall?
