Virgin River Refresher: Who is Calvin?
We’re officially back in the fictional Northern California town of Virgin River, where rumors are spreading fast. The latest season of the beloved Netflix original is finally here. The first ten episodes will be released on Thursday September 7th. Fans can expect the season’s remaining two episodes – which are holiday episodes – to arrive on the streamer in November. February 30, 2023. After the explosive finale of Part 1, we can’t wait to see where the storyline takes us next!

Until the end of the 10 new episodes of Virgin River Season 5 we finally learn who the father of Charmaine’s boys is. And it’s quite unexpected! If you’ve already seen the scene and are completely confused, don’t worry – we’ve got you covered.

As revealed in Virgin River Season 5, Calvin isn’t really dead after all, And He is the father of Charmaine’s twins. At the beginning of the season, Charmaine admits to Jack that the person who fathered her children is just someone she had a one-time affair with, and not someone she can imagine being a good father. This statement got us curious, but we never thought it would be Calvin!
Don’t you remember who Calvin even is? That’s okay! There are so many characters to keep up with in this series. So let’s break it down.
Calvin is Brady’s former boss at the lumberyard, and he appears to be the one responsible for the drug trade — until his apparent death. By all accounts, he’s a villain. Calvin is the one who originally brings Brady into the business after Brady decides to quit working at Jack’s. Calvin and Jack had quite a big argument in the earlier seasons and at one point he even poisoned the food in his bar.
Calvin is played by actor David Cubitt, best known for series Medium, Ray DonovanAnd siren. He also appeared in episodes of Nancy Drew, The good doctor, So help me, Toddand other popular shows.

Calvin apparently dies Virgin River Season 4 after his boat explodes – but they never show a body. In the new season it becomes clear that he is still alive and wants to be part of his sons’ lives. This will no doubt spell trouble for Charmaine, who is most likely suspicious of Calvin and his intentions.
It also turns out that Calvin isn’t actually the boss of drug trafficking; It’s Melissa. Even though Calvin is believed to be dead, business continues to thrive in Season 5. It’ll be interesting to find out if Calvin will be back in the future — or if he never stopped working for Melissa.
There is no doubt that Calvin’s actual life will be a major plot point going forward. Fans can look forward to the two additional episodes of Virgin River Season 5 this November, and we come with good news because Virgin River Season 6 is also in the works!
