Virgin River season 6 will not be released on Netflix in 2023
There’s never been a better time to do it Virgin River Fan! Ten new episodes just dropped on September 7th, two holiday episodes are coming this November as part of the fifth season, and the series has already been renewed for a sixth season!
If you’ve just finished the first ten episodes of season five, the good news is that you have two more episodes to look forward to before the end of the year. Although the fifth season was not technically split into two parts, two additional episodes will be released this year that are part of the fifth season.
Billed as holiday episodes, these two episodes will kick off the holiday season in Virgin River, but they will also pick up where the tenth episode of season five left off by continuing the stories from the finale.
These two episodes will help conclude the fifth season of the series and then the wait for the sixth season begins.
Virgin River Season 6 Release Date Predictions
We don’t know when at this point Virgin River Season 6 is coming to Netflix; However, we expect the next season to be released by the end of 2024.
Originally, Filming for Season 6 was scheduled to begin this summer; However, Virgin River is one of the many shows affected by the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strike, with production on the show suspended indefinitely.
The good news is this Virgin River is not a show with a lot of special effects, which should help Netflix get through the season relatively quicker than would be necessary for shows with a lot of special effects, such as: Stranger Things And The Witcher.
As long as filming can begin at the end of the year or early 2024, there is a strong chance that Netflix can still release a new season Virgin River in 2024. The most likely scenario is that the season will take place in the autumn months, probably between September and November 2024.
Of course, we’ll have to wait for an official update from Netflix to know when the season is coming, but for now all we know for sure is that Season 6 won’t be out until the end of the year.
