Walmart pay raise: Employees to see increase in March 2023

NEW YORK — Walmart says U.S. workers will get a pay raise next month, increasing starting wages from $14 to $19 an hour.

Company president CEO John Furner told employees in a memo Tuesday that the pay increase will be reflected in their March 2 pay slips and will pass through a combination of increases. Targeted and regular annual salary.

Workers at 3,000 stores will get a pay rise, increasing the average wage to $17.50 an hour from $17. Starting wages currently range between $12 and $18 an hour, depending on location.

The latest wage hike brings Walmart, the country’s largest retailer and largest private employer, closer to many of its competitors, including Target and Amazon, which raised the minimum wage to 15 dollars an hour.
