When Queen Elizabeth II’s coffin was laid out in Westminster Hall on Thursday, a line stretched more than 4 miles along the River Thames. The British government warned it could be as long as 10 miles as hundreds of thousands of people wait to pay their last farewell to the longest-serving monarch ahead of Monday’s planned state funeral.
