Warhammer 40K: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters – How to collect seeds
Destination of important visits
You will learn about how to collect seeds in Warhammer 40K: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters in an early game mission. In it, Inquisitor Vakir tells you about the origins of Nurgle’s plague and how she plans to find its source. From this point on you will notice a few mobs with unique symbols (see in the image below).
Killing these seed carriers immediately, especially with ranged weapons, will be a problem, as doing so will yield none of your seeds. You’ll need to do a critical melee attack instead to activate the Precision Targeting System. If successful, the target’s body parts will be displayed. Simply select the section with the seed icon to harvest the item.
Note 1: An easy way to score a critical hit is to use the Hammerhand skill, which has a 100% chance of success. Classes like Justicar, Interceptor, and Paladin can unlock this. You can also equip weapons and wargear to increase your crit rate.
Note 2: If the finisher on the carrier is also a crit, you will automatically get a seed.
Send a Servo Extractor skull and various technologies
Two technologies can also help you collect seeds in Warhammer 40K: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters. The first is called “Advanced Seed Access”. This produces a +1 seed, as well as an extracted Servo-Skull.
While different classes can equip the Servo Skull, this one is better when used by your Apothecary (due to the extra slots and ammo). The Extractor Servo Skull can then be sent out to harvest seeds from the carrier without stunning them.
Just below “Advanced Seed Access” is another technology called “Advanced Seed Extraction”. When you have this, you will receive an extra seed for each seed you obtain.
Random purulent growth
You can also obtain seeds by exploring the map to find seeds that grow pus. When you interact with them at close range, they have a chance to spew and drop items. Just don’t take too long when roaming around an area due to the Warp Surge bug.
Many other types of seeds
You will only need to fight Poxus, the green seed, at the start of the campaign in Warhammer 40K: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters. Then, once you’ve completed the main quest called The Nexus, other plague strains will be revealed. Depending on the type of strain active on a planet, you may see several types of enemy mutations/buffs and Warp Surge debuffs:
|Tension / Color||Mutants / Enemy Buffs||Warp Surge Debuff|
|Dolorus (Red)||Damage Bonus||Damaged|
|Mortus (Blue)||Running out of will||Interventional telepathic ability|
|Necrosus (Gold)||Armor Bonus||Resist attacks and defenses|
|Tentarus (Purple)||HP Bonus||Additional Mutations and Bloomspawns|
Try to collect as many seeds in the quests in Warhammer 40K: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters. Doing so will further assist you in the campaign. For reference, seeds are used to upgrade weapons, armor, and other equipment. Certain types of seeds are used depending on the upgrade you want to pick.
And, as mentioned earlier, the seed is the currency used in the research, including the technologies that power the new Strategies. Finally, the bottom right row of tech has several options that can be unlocked. They refer to five bosses that need to be defeated later in the game.
