Warren Moon believes the Las Vegas Raiders have plans for Colin Kaepernick to join the team.
Kaepernick trained for the team earlier this week.
“[McDaniels] knows how to handle that kind of quarterback. Maybe there’s a package of plays he can use to maybe help the Raiders in game situations,” he said of Raiders coach Josh McDaniels. “If you look at the backups they have right now, they don’t have a lot of experience as far as playtime is concerned,” Moon said. “So I think it makes a lot of sense to bring him in and take a look at what he’s got left.”
Kaepernick is still desperate to return to the NFL and has even offered to return as a backup quarterback.
“Five years of behind-the-scenes training,” Kaepernick said on the I AM ATHLETE podcast. “You don’t do that if you don’t have passion and don’t think you will find a way in this field.”
“I know I have to find my way back. So yes. If I have to come in as a backup, that’s fine,” he said. “But I’m not staying there. And if I can prove that I’m a starter, I want to be able to step onto the field as one. I just need this opportunity to walk through the door.”
