Warzone pro OEK responds to hacking accusations

OMiT-Pro Warzone player OEK responded to the hacking allegations by releasing an official statement and going through several clips in question.

A bright young talent, OEK recently had a breakout tournament and won a 15,000 CharlieIntel and BoomTV Trio Customs tournament on April 21st.

Hacking in Warzone is a big problem for both casual and competitive gamers. Raven Software introduced its own anti-cheat system RICOCHET and a new feature that “disarms” hackers.

Despite Raven Software’s best efforts to mitigate the problem, Warzone is still plagued by hacking, and it’s particularly problematic when competing players cheat and use it to win money. Recently, OEK has been accused of using hacks that damage its reputation and that of Warzone.

RICOCHET was first launched in December, but players had doubts about whether it would work.

OEK released a statement and tweeted multiple responses to the clips in question. OEK said in its statement, “It’s sad that everyone is jumping to conclusions when I’ve been gaming and streaming for almost two years to try and make a career out of it.”

One of the clips in question shows OEK shooting through a wall twice, but it doesn’t confirm whether or not he cheated. In his statement, OEK explained: “I ran towards a team that was shooting through the walls. I didn’t kill anyone but I knew we only killed 3 so there had to be another so I shot through the walls at the only place it could come from.”

Another clip showed OEK knocking down an enemy on a rooftop. OK Tweeted in response, saying, “The clip that was ‘deleted’. I had intel on the guy peaking before I got the loadout.

This clip also does not confirm that cheating took place.

OK also tweeted, “I’ve spent too much time on this for my name to be tarnished. I will do everything I can to show that I don’t hack, and if I have to take a six-hour train to London for a LAN, I will.”
