PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Our newsmaker was one of our panelists, Sharmain Matlock spinnerCEO of the Urban Affairs Coalition.

She spoke about the brand new “Coalition to Save Lives” and the civil society/private/community partnership between the Philadelphia Foundation, William Penn Foundation and UAC and 70 community organizations and chambers to address immediate intervention against gun violence and wider prevention efforts to support. The website is SavePhillyLives.org.

The remainder of the roundtable panel continued to discuss what needs to be done now to thwart this epidemic of gun violence.

Other topics discussed included: Progressive Helen Gym (D) resigning from the Philadelphia City Council and announcing a candidacy for mayor amid a growing field of competition, an update on the impeachment proceedings against Harrisburg District Attorney Larry Krasner, New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy, the reviewing COVID guidelines as the region heads into cold/flu/RSV season and what’s expected to happen this weekend at The Pennsylvania Society’s political powerhouse event in New York City.
