Watch live as G7 leaders and guest countries gather for family photo in Japan

Watch live as G7 leaders and host countries gather for a family photo in Japan on Saturday 20 May.

Leaders of the world’s wealthiest democracies on Friday took action to tighten sanctions on Russia, while a draft communique to be issued after their talks in the city of Hiroshima stressed the need to trade dependency to decrease with China.

They are joined by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy this weekend and have vowed to limit any exports to Russia that could aid Vladimir Putin’s ongoing invasion.

The G7 – made up of the US, Japan, Germany, Great Britain, France, Italy and Canada – will continue to debate strategy in the Ukraine conflict this weekend.

Japan has confirmed that Mr. Zelenskyy’s decision to attend the Hiroshima summit was based on his “strong desire” to take part in talks that will affect his country’s defense against Russia.
