insect bites begins quite harmlessly, if a little unsettling: A young woman with an alarming number of insect bites decides to call an exterminator to make sure she is not scared bed bug infestation. From there the short goes to an extreme body horror…then injects an unexpected tidal wave of surreal humor.

The shifts in tone alone are remarkable, but the seemingly endless sequence of everyone just spinning their heads and staring at each other really lets you see bed bug is a horror film that has two things in mind: to gross you out as hell and to make you repeat its protagonist’s genuinely stunned scream “WTF?”.
