[Watch] Tim Southee takes a brilliant catch on follow through to dismiss SRH’s Rahul Tripathi

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) quick pitcher Tim Southee caught on with great reflexes to knock out Rahul Tripathi of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at MCA Stadium during the IPL 2022 match on Saturday.

The incident occurred in the ninth minute of the match when Tripathi tried to hit a straight drive away from the experienced kiwi. Hyderabad’s batter didn’t try to hold the ball and hit the ball very hard with his hand.

The ball went very fast but Tim Southee reached out to catch the ball. Southee leans to the left to catch the ball directly over his shoulder. It was an excellent KKR bowler’s catching reflex.

Watch Southee’s capture below:

Chasing 178 runs, SRH openers Kane Williamson and Abhishek Sharma gave their team a solid start. However, Kolkata locked them in in the final of the power play when Andre Russell sacked Hyderabad captain.

Abhishek continued to accumulate runs at a brisk pace before Pat Cummins’ excellence stopped Hyderabad’s line of runs. KKR picks up momentum to earn a few more hits in a row.

SRH will now rely on the all-powerful Washington Sundar to get deep if they have to chase the total.

“We have a little more and that’s a bonus” – Andre Russell after 49 games unbeaten against SRH

As of 2019, Russell has a strike rate of over 180 IPLs. No difference #KKR The hitter, with the exception of Narine, has over 140 SRs facing a fair number of balls.#KKRvsSRH

After a bright start from Ajinkya Rahane and Nitish Rana, Knight Riders collapsed and was reduced to 94/5. However, Russell and Sam Billings teamed up in much-needed 63 runs for a total of more than 150 runs.

The West Indian tennis player scored 20 runs against SRH in the final to bring his total to 177 runs. Russell, who remains undefeated 49 of 28 serves, says they have a good total on the table to win the game.

Speaking at the end of the KKR round, Andre Russell said:

“A strong finish is a good thing. They bowled really well, the athletes hit the yorkers. I was a little upset but I said keep it up because I know if I stay to the end. , we can win 170. We have a little more and that’s a bonus.”

He added:

“It (overall) looks good based on how it plays (court) but it’s not playing as well as it looks. 170 is definitely a good point. It’s holding a little bit but we have to play well and hit good areas. Once we hit the tough lengths with not a lot of room and change our pace… pitchers Umesh, Southee and I, we’ll definitely be back and so are we. there are two top spinning players.”

This is a must-win for Kolkata as they aim to maintain their chances of reaching the IPL 2022 knockout round.
