We gave our baby a unique name with Roman numerals – people say that’s the least cringey part of our birth announcement

In a baby name forum on Reddit, a Reddit user shared a woman’s baby announcement that she originally posted on Instagram.

The woman wrote: “She’s here. Born on January 7th, 2020 in our little home by the sea.

“Her big sister woke to see her emerge from my waters and her big brother woke to meet her early the next morning.

“Our birth path was sacred.

“Me and Antoine communicated via voice and telepathy the entire ride and we were so proud of her when she was finally in our arms.

“Welcome to earth, little one. Metta IV (pronounced metaphor).”

Reddit users left their mustard on the woman’s post in the comments, and some drew attention to some things that felt scarier than the baby’s actual name.

“Lol I also communicated via voice during the birth,” one person wrote.

“Isn’t communication with sounds just… speeches?” another questioned.

“‘Emerging from my waters’… Listen… I’m pretty modern and woo-woo but it makes me want to throw up,” said a third.

“What the hell is this lady doing for drugs?”

“No, no, no, no, no,” wrote one final person.
