We remodeled our van and now it’s perfect for us and our dog – there was one major downside but the compromise was worth it

A COUPLE have shared their honest review of their homemade van after living in it full-time for a year.

They built it as a living space for themselves and their dog, but had to make some sacrifices and compromises.

TikTokers Court and Nate (@courtandnate) shared an update on how their van life adventure is going.

“What we think about building our homemade van after living in it full-time for a year,” said the videos Caption read.

This is the second van the duo have lived in.

They made a compromise when designing their bed, which sits in the back of the van.

“I’m adaptable to the team all day long,” Court said.

But because they wanted their dog to have his own space, they elevated their bed.

It still converts to “day mode,” as Court said, but gives the pup his own space underneath at night.

Although the convertible bed is easier to assemble than the last, there are some drawbacks to the design.

The couple lost some storage space because they had a partially raised bed.

The court also said the view from her window was somewhat more limited due to the raised bed.

She also said that the two often had to lift their dog onto the bed because he couldn’t climb up himself.

But Court also pointed out some aspects of her new van that have improved her quality of life.

Adding a shower was a big change for the couple.

“We almost exclusively shower here,” Court said.

And because they now have a sliding door for their toilet, they can also use it privately.
