Website launches to help families find baby formula

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – The government has launched a website to help parents find infant formula amid milk shortages across the country.

The shortfall stems from supply disruptions and a safety recall. An estimated 40% of popular US baby formula is out of stock.

After speaking with manufacturers on Thursday, President Joe Biden said his administration will step up red tape cuts to make it easier for companies to produce formula faster. He also said the FDA will announce specific steps to increase imports of formula from abroad.

The US Department of Health and Human Services has a website with resources to help families who cannot find formula. The site also has a number of hotlines and community resources listed.

Parents are advised not to instill formula, make homemade formula, or use infant formula.
