Westbound lanes on 91 Freeway in Corona to close this weekend

Drivers heading west through Corona this weekend should consider a new route or face significant delays, officials warn.
All westbound Freeway 91 lanes will be closed from Interstate 15 to Lincoln Avenue — about a 2-mile distance in Corona — Friday evening through early Monday, according to the Riverside County Transportation Commission. Officials urged drivers to avoid the area or prepare for delays while using diversions.
The closure is part of the $12.6 million Project 91 Refresh, which is working to repave lanes and repair noise barriers and other barriers along Corona’s busy corridor. Crews will repave lanes where the roadway had a history of settlement this weekend, officials said.
The lockdown will begin at 10pm on Friday and is expected to be completed by 4am on Monday
Interstate 15 remains open, but the connections between Interstate and Westbound 91 are not accessible. Westbound 91 Express lanes and all other terminals and ramps will also be closed.
The commission presented a map with planned diversions.
