When stranger things Season 4 was released on Netflix In 2022, everyone was looking forward to finally seeing Mike, Eleven and the rest stranger things gang back on their screens. But the fourth part also introduced some new characters, and one character has captured the hearts of many. We’re talking about Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn). Rest in peace one of the best characters of the sci-fi series.
Eddie Munson was introduced in the first episode of stranger things Season 4 and appeared in every episode except the fourth episode. He was a student at Hawkins High School and the leader of the Hellfire Club, a student organization where its members played Dungeons & Dragons.
Considered an outsider, Eddie didn’t mind not fitting in. In fact, as leader of the Hellfire Club, his goal was to reach out to other misfits like himself. His objection to conforming didn’t sit well with Hawkins High’s popular kids, which led to constant arguments. But Eddie didn’t let anyone get him down. He even became friends with Dustin, Lucas and Mike.
Overall Eddie was a good guy and he didn’t deserve to suffer such a tragic death. But how did he die and in which episode? Find out right below.

Eddie meets his tragic death in episode 9 of season four, which is the season finale. stranger things Season 4 Episode 9 is titled “Chapter Nine: The Piggyback”. His death occurs closer to the end of the episode.
How does Eddie die in Season 4 of Stranger Things?
Basically, Eddie sacrifices himself to help the rest stranger things Gang defeats Vecna. In the Upside Down, while Nancy, Steve and Robin storm the Creel House to kill Vecna, Eddie and Dustin team up to lure Vecna’s demobats away from the house.
Eddie climbs into his trailer at the Upside Down and strums some heavy metal on his guitar to get the bats’ attention and lure them away from Creel house. Although this plan ultimately works, there are just too many bats for Eddie and Dustin to handle, so they take refuge in the trailer. But the bats invade the trailer, so Eddie and Dustin try to escape by returning to the real world. While Dustin returns to the real world, Eddie decides to stay in the Upside Down to help Steve, Nancy, Robin and everyone else.
As Dustin yells at Eddie to return to the real world, Eddie ignores his pleas, gets on his bike and rides away from the trailer to lure the bats away. His goal is to buy Steve, Nancy and Robin more time. Unfortunately, the bats overpower him and eventually kill him. Dustin manages to return to the Upside Down and be there for Eddie as he takes his last breath, but it’s a heartbreaking scene to witness.
