THERE have been many iconic characters who have taken Emmerdale by storm.
One character who caused a stir during her time in the Dales was the legendary Sadie King.
What happened to Sadie King in Emmerdale?
Sadie arrived in the Emmerdale village in 2004 as Jimmy King’s wife.
But the couple didn’t last long and divorced.
Sadie was also involved in an infamous feud Charity Dingle.
After her breakup with Jimmy, Sadie wanted revenge on the Kings after they left her with nothing.
She and Cain Dingle planned to kidnap Tom King, but the plan backfired and Cain took two million pounds from Tom while Sadie left the village with nothing.
Meanwhile, the then media regulator Ofcom received 37 complaints about the kidnapping episode.
ITV defended the storyline, saying it was one of the series’ “most exciting and successful” events Story 8.5 million viewers tuned in for the episode.
They added: “While Emmerdale stories do not condone acts of violence, they need not and should not shy away from it.”
Where is Sadie King now?
After escaping the Emmerdale village in 2006, Sadie was never seen again.
The last time viewers heard from her was in 2009.
At this point Cain returned to the Dales and asked Jimmy: “Have you heard from your ex-wife recently?”
But in May 2023, Emmerdale fans were thrown into an uproar with a fan theory about Sadie.
It came about when everyone thought Nicky Milligan’s mother would turn out to be the iconic character.
A Reddit user shared a theory on an Emmerdale forum: “So Caleb is the son of Faith Dingle and Frank Tate, his son is Nicky, whose mother we don’t know yet. My suspicion is that Nicky’s mother is Sadie King.”
“Then maybe we can finally have the showdown between Kim and Sadie that we were promised in the early 2000s. It will also be a cool way to portray Nicky as Dingle, Tate and King.”
Who played Sadie King?
Actress and singer Patsy Kensit played Sadie in Emmerdale between 2004 and 2006.
She even won “Best Bitch” at the 2006 Inside Soap Awards for her portrayal of the iconic character.
Patsy began her acting career as a child star at the age of four and even joined the rock band Eighth Wonder when she was just 14 years old.
Her breakthrough into mainstream acting came in 1986 with the role of Suzette in the musical film Absolute Beginners.
She then starred in Lethal Weapon 2 in 1988.


After leaving Emmerdale, the actress appeared in numerous high-profile television shows including Casualty, Tina and Bobby, Agatha Raisin and McDonald and Dodds.
In early 2023, Patsy returned to her soap roots, playing tragic Lola Pearce’s mother, Emma, in EastEnders.
