What if Love became the main character in season 4 of You?

You has become a huge hit for Netflix as fans flatter Joe Goldberg aka Will Bettelheim as he becomes so obsessed with various women that he even kills for them. Despite all his atrocities, fans can’t help but love this serial killer protagonist and in many situations even support him (after all, there wouldn’t be a show otherwise).

Although this beloved killer is our protagonist, fans fell in love with Love played by Victoria Pedretti. She stole the show after the big reveal at the end of season two that Joe had actually met his match: love is a killer too and willing to kill for it him.

Her propensity for violence in season three essentially made her the new “Joe” as we first knew him. with joe mostly reformed, this created a conflict that was killed or killed in the finale. Of course Joe won, but what if he didn’t? What could You Season 4 looked like Love managed to kill him?

What if Love Quinn hadn’t died before You Season 4?

For starters, Love would need a new identity and location because Sherry and Cary managed to escape from the cage by finding a hidden key. She also thought she killed Theo, but Joe found him and took him to the hospital before their showdown at her home. Even if Love managed to track down and kill Sherry and Cary, Theo’s testimony coupled with Matt’s suspicions and evidence would all point to her.

Since Love is more impulsive than Joe, she is unlikely to follow the same path as him in faking her death and blaming Joe. Instead, she would likely disappear with a new identity using the resources of the Quinn family. The same man Joe meets in season four would give her everything she needs to start a new life.

Love would start her new life in Paris. The series has pointed to Paris in every season, anticipating the inevitable journey there. First Peach wanted to move to Paris with Beck, then Love suggested Ellie to cookery school in Paris in Season 2, and finally Marienne takes Juliette to Paris to escape the drama in Madre Linda. With Love’s money, she probably traveled quite a bit and fell in love with Paris, which led her to start her new life there.

While Joe followed Marienne to Paris, it’s unlikely that Love would follow her or anyone else. She had her chance to kill Marienne, but left her unharmed after an awkward heart-to-heart.

While in Paris, she and Henry both adopted new aliases. Since her motives revolve solely around family, leaving Henry in the care of others is highly unlikely. In fact, that would be her main focus May be Henry because of what drives her.

Love and obsession drove Joe to live the way he did, but Love mostly focused on relationships to start a family, which she got with Henry. Romance would not be off the table for love, but Henry would always come first. In fact, her love life has always depended on her obsession with family.

For example her did have an affair with Theo, but he appealed to her to fill the forty-shaped hole in her heart. She likes to have someone to protect and for most of her life that has been Forty. Therefore, any romance she would develop as the series’ new protagonist would likely share traits with Forty, and if harm were done to her new boyfriend, she would deal with the issue the same way she dealt with her abusive childhood au pair .

The primal instincts of love are ingrained in her at this point, but Joe has brought out the worst in her. With her new life in Paris, she would follow the same path as Joe and try to soften her murderous tendencies. If not for her, then for Henry. This may sound all too similar to Joe’s storyline, but remember that love is much more impulsive and therefore makes you trigger-happy. Trying to rein in the violent streak would prove very difficult, especially when she discovers the slightest harm happening to Henry or an unnamed Forty-like love interest.

Regard You Season 4 Part 1 now on Netflix.
