Marilyn Monroe has been in the spotlight lately (did she ever really get rid of them?) thanks to Ana de Armas’ star role in the Netflix series Yellow premieres September 28, 2022. If you haven’t seen it, let me tell you, it is intense. Not only is the film nearly three hours long, but it also shows a lot of abuse (fictionalized for the film) that Monroe went through to achieve her stardom, which some might see as the cause. It is getting a lot of comments on TikTok and In for making allegations of abuse that Monroe faced become the focus of the film. Yellow based on the fictional account of her life by writer Joyce Carole Oates, so it’s like the fantasy story of what Monroe’s life was like as she became a star after the golden age of Hollywood.
The film was shot at Monroe’s actual home and depicts many of the same outfits as the ones you’ve seen Monroe photographed. The iconic quote she told reporters in the ’50s. Monroe was telling an anecdote about Time in which she said she was constantly asked what she wore to bed. In response, she replied “Chanel No.5.”
The iconic perfume has been around since 1921, if you can believe it. It is considered one of the first women’s fragrances to be available, produced specifically for women. A century later, this perfume is still around and, although iconic and a Chanel product, it is actually quite affordable.
This travel-sized kit includes a screw-on spray bottle and three 0.7fl oz Chanel No.5 spray bottles, which is a pretty cool deal for under $150. You can refill your perfume with just three packs for just $106 after that. It’s the perfect investment if you know you’re already a perfumer or just want to try it out.
You can keep this in your bag, in your car, or take it on vacation, as it’s definitely below the liquid ounce limit for planes. Embrace this floral fragrance now and feel a little more elegant throughout the day.
