Although suits is set in New York City, but the cast and crew did not film all nine seasons there. In fact, only the pilot episode and the exterior shots of the title sequence were shot in New York USA Network official website. Most of the production took place in Canada. Specifically Toronto, Ontario. Production was moved to Toronto due to the city offering tax credits for shows filmed there.
The main setting of the series is the fictional law firms of Pearson Hardman. The law firm’s exterior shots show the Bay-Adelaide Center in Toronto’s financial district. However, the interiors of the offices were filmed at Downsview Park Studios in Toronto, Ontario.
The sets were built to emulate New York law firms, using numerous New York backdrops as backdrops for the storefronts.
