CAST: Which show’s actors are you more likely to recognize?

Rings of Power While LOTR the movie starts with a Friendship filled with familiar faces (Elijah Wood, Ian McKellen, Cate Blanchett, etc.), the TV show felt like it didn’t need star power. A24 fans might recognize Morfydd Clark from horror movie 2019 Saint Maud (Clark plays the genuine Maud), or some viewers might identify Nazanin Boniadi as Nora from ten episodes of How I meet your Mother. But Amazon seems confident that Tolkien is the only star they need.

Dragon’s House Ironically, when Game of Thrones when it first premiered, one of its most recognizable actors was Sean Bean, who made the fantasy show a credit for his portrayal of Boromir in Fellowship of the Ring. His influence may have inspired many people LOTR fans to sample Okay… And finally turning the cast of mostly unknowns into big stars.

Dragon’s House Don’t settle for just one star this time. Matt Smith, who plays the nefarious charming Daemon Targaryen, also has strong sympathies with the sci-fi/fantasy crowd, having played Doctor Who for three seasons. (He is also known for his more Earthly roles, especially as Prince Philip on Crown.) As King Viserys, Paddy Considine can be recognized from Simon Pegg’s Hot Fuzz and Doomsday of the worldas well as the third season of Peaky Blinders. Rhys Ifans, who boomed in America in Notting Hillalready in everything from Ultimate Spiderman to the penultimate Harry Potter movie. And many others with familiar credits: Maybe you don’t remember where Have you seen the cast of Dragonbut you will recognize their faces.

SHOWRUNNERS: Which creative leaders seem more credible for this type of show?

Ring of Power Showrunners Payne and McKay have entered the world of theatrical franchise; both did unrecognized work on Star Trek Beyond and tapped at one point to work on a script for the fourth part Journeys the film received critical acclaim from JJ Abrams. In fact, Abrams apparently recommended this duo to Amazon to Ring work, per report Deadline. Additionally, the duo worked on an early draft by Dwayne Johnson, Forest cruise.

Dragon’s House Sapochnik has directed some of the best episodes of Thrones (most notably “Battle of the Bastards”), but he’s not really a writer. On the other hand, Condal ran the series about the alien invasion of the United States Colony, ran for three seasons to good reviews. Like Payne and McKay, Condal followed suit Lost guru: Colony created by Carlton Cuse.

Though none of the writers had the credit to shout, “Oh, they were born to take over this franchise, “it is only fair to note that Okay showrunners, David Benioff and DB Weiss, had similarly eclectic IMDb credits before joining Westeros.
